Query:
The Difference Between Mann and Antarmann? Antarmann is Stable wheras Mann is
not...
Vijay Kumar:
The Antarmann of every Human being is not only stable but it has all the
powers of God in a minuscule form. A grain of sand can be considered as an "Atman" and the whole mound of
sand called as "Parmatman", Karta or God, the omnipotent Creator. The voice coming out of our mouth is
nothing but the voice of our Atman soul, our true real self-residing in our heart. Only when we give a
patient hearing to the small still inner voice coming from our Antarmann, our atman the soul within does it
guide us on the right path.
Our Mann is extremely erratic in nature... it has to be kept in control
all the time if we need to achieve success and reach the goal of life. Establishing absolute control over the
Mann is possible only after we have established control over the five senses. The Mann of every living being
is by nature uncontrollable. Multitudes of thoughts pass through our brain every second of life... and it
seems we have absolutely no control over it. These uninvited thoughts play havoc in our life. We easily get
diverted from our goal of life due to the flow of these erratic thoughts.
As we need a capable rider to win the race... the winning being made
possible by the control exercised by the rider on the horse through the reins. These reins helped us control
the horse, as we desired. Similarly, every Human being is required to control the flow of thoughts that is
created by the erratic behavior of the mind. The moment absolute control over the senses and the mind gets
established... we experience the stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi... the stage when everything within our brain
gets stilled. This experience of nothingness is nothing but pure bliss.
As is advocated by the Spiritual masters of today that we must always try
to hear the voice of the Antarmann and abide by it... does it mean they are refereeing to our Mann? No. They
are refereeing to our Antarmann, our atman the soul within. The actions of our Mann are prompted by our ego
whereas Antarmann directly relates to the cosmic power within us. It is as stable as the God
Almighty.
Only after gaining absolute control over the power of the mind (mann)
that we step into the domains of our Antarmann. It is the mind power that is the communication link between
all atmans (souls) in the cosmos. Without the power of the mind... the complete cosmos would become
meaningless. Everything would become stone dead. It is only the mind power... the power of the Mann...
writing which a human being rises to the levels of a Buddha or Lord Krishna
himself.
Control of the mind (mann) is the last step on the path to god realization apart from practicing absolute celibacy for a continuous period of 12 years.
If we do that... gaining enlightenment and finally salvation (moksha in Hinduism) is not far behind.
Establishing control over the Mann is the most difficult part in the life of a serious spiritual seeker. One
can gain control on the senses by practicing austerities continually but to gain control over Mann takes the
hell out of a being.
To cut short cosmic journey... we need to give one Agni pariksha after
another. In the last about 150 years only two persons have realized God... they were Sri Ramakrishna
Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana.

Full text of query: Thank you for the concepts big bang and
poonarjanma. You write- "Regarding the man and the mind, you're confusing man with Antarmann. It
is Antarmann, which has the power of discrimination ... Antarmann, is a word used to describe our atman the
soul within ... our consciousness. Whether we call it Antarmann ... consciousness ... Atman or soul ... they
are all one and the same. Heart is the temple of our body and therein resides our atman, the soul within. It
communicates with the other Atmans through brain, which acts as a receiver and transmitter of
thoughts."
As you written that Antarmann is nothing but Atman. But it is wellknown
that Atman is most stable thing. It never change and it is not bound by anything. Then how we can relate
antramann with Atman. As attramann is not stable. We have poet in marathi by SHANTA SHELKE. 'MANN VADHAY,
MANN VADHAY, ' I don't remember that one but meaning is that it is not stable. At one moment it think of
India. At next moment it is in USA. So how one can relate antramann with Atman. As atman is going to be
stable it is not related at all with body.
