Query:
Can you help me reach the state of 'Dhayana' while following the proper meditation technique/Meditation Techniques ?
Vijay Kumar:
Your prime concern as on date is the right meditation technique which needs to be
followed.
Meditation technique which shall teach you reach the level of Dhayana is
a process... a path and not the end of the journey. Meditation techniques can be many but the right
meditation technique shall lead one towards more tranquility and peace of mind.
Dhayana: what exactly does it mean? It simply implies that one is able to
concentrate his thoughts by using proper meditation technique and reaching the stage of Dhayana... the stage
when one comes face-to-face with God... the stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi. This experience is something which
simply cannot be defined in words.
In the Dhayana state of meditation technique one is so engrossed in
communicating with God Almighty that we forget about everything mundane. What now matters is progressing
ourselves following the proper meditation technique towards the end goal.
The end goal of all meditation techniques is reaching the stage of
tranquility... a stage when everything becomes standstill. This is a stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi when one can
have a dialogue with God on one-to-one basis.
To follow the right meditation technique amongst the various meditation
techniques being followed all over... we need to initially learn the meaning of word meditation. meditation
termed in Hindi as Yoga simply means trying to create a synthesis between our real self (our atman, the soul
within) and God, the Almighty.
Any meditation technique or meditation techniques followed by one which
propels us towards reaching the stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi is the right technique. The right meditation
technique does not involve sitting in their closed dark room and concentrating our thoughts on a dimly lit
bulb.
The right meditation technique is reciting various mantras which shall
help us in eradicating the impurity of our thoughts. As we rise higher on the meditational plane we shall
find that all the clutter which used to disturb us very often in our day-to-day life is now
missing.
It is the absence of this clutter from our thought process which makes
for the right meditation technique.
There are few fundamentals that are required to be followed to follow the
proper meditation technique.
The first of this is maintaining a healthy body. Unless we maintain a
healthy body... no matter what meditation technique we follow... the end results would not suffice. A healthy
body results from invoking positive thoughts all the time.
Enabling us to follow the right meditation technique positive thinking
has to become an integral part of our day-to-day life. Positive thinking as practiced and advocated by the
famous Napoleon hill in his books The Master-Key to Riches and The Law of Success In Sixteen Lessons are my
favorites.
If we are to follow the proper meditation techniques then we need to go through all the three books The Master-Key to Riches and The Law of Success In Sixteen Lessons by Think and Grow Rich in detail. These books simply teach us that
before embarking on any journey we must have a goal... the final goal in sight!
Once we have fixed a goal in our life then following a right meditation
technique would become easier. Having fixed a goal we are now to concentrate ourselves on practicing the
right meditation technique... the practice of Neti as practiced and advocated by Maharishi Ramana... the
famous Seer who realized God in his lifetime.
Without Neti no meditational technique would suffice. We cannot do
without Neti and that is a judgment without appeal. Neti as advocated by Maharishi Ramana simply means
following the path of not this, not this!
Neti (the finest form of meditation technique nee guided meditation) involves negating
everything in the Cosmos which we think and consider not as God. And what ultimately remains in the end is nothing
but God, the Almighty.
While proceeding on the path of pure Spirituality towards God we find certain bonuses being made available to us in form of
cosmic powers that be.
Used for the mankind... these Tantric powers carry a lot of weight age.
The benefits of meditation are never limited... the first and the foremost being that our mind without
clutter is something of a prized possession of every successful CEO and owners of every successful
enterprise.
We may never have the desire to reach the top rung of the society... yet, reaching the stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi
is a boon for all. Even those who have materialistic desires left within them... these persons also can work to the
best for the benefit of the mankind at large. Not to mention they shall gather a heavenly booty in return from
God Almighty.
Everything in the cosmic system is balanced every moment of life. If we
expect something from God... we have to give back something to the society in return. Alternatively while
proceeding on the path of pure spirituality practicing right meditation technique if we are showered with
certain Tantric powers then we are supposed to give back equivalent in return to the society.
The process of Neti can be best practiced and followed following
correctly the path of Shavasana pose in yogic exercises (Shavasana- most powerful meditation technique). Both Neti and the Shavasana pose in yoga complement
each other. One cannot do without! It is lying in the Shavasana pose that one can practice Neti to its
extreme best.
Regarding meditation techniques... I would again like to clear the
definition of meditation. Yoga in Hindi simply means the process of synthesizing something with the other. In
Hindi two yog two equals four. The process of our Atman the soul within trying to synthesize with the super atman (God, the Almighty) is the
right meditation technique that needs to be followed by a true seeker of spirituality.
Once the meaning and the essence of the word meditation and yoga is clear
to us... following the proper meditation techniques and reaching the end goal of life is not afar.
In a nutshell the proper meditation technique comprises of setting a goal
of journey of life, understanding the correct meaning of meditation and yoga and practicing the Shavasana
pose in yoga and also Neti (not this, not this) as advocated and practiced by Maharishi Ramana.
Practicing so one finally reaches the portals of heaven... the gateway to the stage of Nirvikalpa
Samadhi!
Nirvikalpa Samadhi is the culmination of all that we call as meditation
and yoga. There is nothing beyond the stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi that is required to be achieved by a true
practitioner of meditation and yoga.
It is but the end of cosmic journey... stage of enlightenment and finally
salvation moksha in Hinduism that is required to be achieved... the final culmination point of cosmic journey
and life itself. our atman the soul within liberates and becomes free from the cycle of life and death
forever.
May God bless you!
