What is Karma and How Does it Work Karma Sutra

Karma is that natural law of the universe (rightly said cosmos... as cosmos contains many universes) in absence of which whole cosmos including God Almighty (termed Brahman in Hinduism) could not sustain! Karma is inherent... ingrained into every living being! Right from stage of birth until death... it is karma that governs the destiny of mankind!

Destiny never laid in hands of God as considered by many world over! Any human being can manifest destiny by controlling one's karma! But taking control of karma... the five senses and mind is a very difficult task! Ask a serious seeker of spirituality and one would understand what controlling five senses and mind is all about!

If one could establish absolute control over five senses and mind... one could negate presence of karma in life in entirety! And what does this mean? In simpler terms in absence of karma... in absence of dross impurities within... every soul atman that is on its cosmic journey of 8.4 million manifestations would finally reach cosmic end of life... the 8.4 millionth manifestation!

And why was Karma necessitated on the cosmic journey?

Primarily we are a soul atman (soul is termed atman in Hinduism) on its cosmic journey! Ever since big bang occurred and all souls’ atmans separated from their source, God Almighty himself... the hurtling souls' atmans in their cosmic sojourn gathered impurities. To cleanse themselves of dross impurities within... every soul atman needs manifesting karma!

It is only through complex process of karma... dross impurities within soul atman removed... never otherwise! Karma was necessitated for removal of dross impurities within every soul atman similar as dross impurities within a lump of hundred KG of gold ore never removed of their own and required external mining machinery and processes... every soul atman also requires passing through maze of 8.4 million bodies to regain its lost original pure prime pristine primordial form!

Only then one KG of pure gold in a lump of hundred KG of gold ore could be extracted! This remaining 99 kg of dross impurities is what karma is all about! It is only through the process of karma... through process of purification we are able to separate one KG of pure gold from lump of hundred KG of gold ore!

Karma facilitates purification process of soul atman in a meaningful manner! Initially every soul atman manifests form of an amoeba (single cell formation)... the first manifestation in cosmic life cycle! Thereafter it further evolves into multi-cell formation, then insect life, plant life, animal life and finally forms of human beings!

Before manifesting human form every soul atman had already manifested a chain of 7.3 million manifestations in insect, plant and animal form! In human form alone we have 1.1 million manifestations to work out our karma... remove dross impurities within! The moment complete dross impurities within soul atman removed one became an enlightened one!

From beginning to end... from first manifestation to 8.4 millionth manifestation... the goal of life for a soul atman remains gaining liberation from cycle of birth and death at the earliest! Having reached stage of human form... it is imperative for human beings to follow directives of our soul atman!

Facilitating our soul atman to reach cosmic end of life... the 8.4 millionth manifestation is the ultimate goal of life for every human being. Whether we understand the spiritual meaning of life or not is immaterial... but one thing is sure... only by traveling spiritual path... only by traveling path undertaken by Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and prophet Mohammed... one finally reached stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana)... never otherwise!

Does it mean gaining enlightenment is the end goal of life for every human being... yes, the cosmic truth is so! Prompted by a bloated ego if human beings continued engagement in materialistic pursuit of life... who can help other than us! We all know and understand that material riches never get carried to next life... the next manifestation!

Still, human beings engaged in every sort of vice... every wrong mode of karma to accumulate material riches beyond requirements! Masses failed to realize that essence of life lay in traveling spiritual path at the earliest. Whatever that gets transferred to next manifestation is virtues earned in present life... nothing beyond!

Nothing except good karma... Punya karma translates to earning virtues in present life! No matter how rich we are on physical manifest plane... a Bill Gates or Warren Buffett... what we are born in next manifestation should be of concern! Those with a sunny disposition and godly thinking in present life evolve to a better manifest stage than those pursuing materialistic comforts!

The doctrine of karma says... as we sow so shall we reap... nothing less or more! In the house of God there are no free lunches! Everything results from a system that cannot err! When none can interfere with inscrutable laws of karma... why indulge in anything ephemeral and prolong the journey... never realizing that true journey always belonged to our soul atman... never the manifest human form!

Some people say that if we do not work... we can free self from bondage of karma! The poor ignorant failed to realize that karma is inbuilt. Even if one was idle... the hunger of stomach would make us work. If we have a family then family requirements make us work... indulge! None can remain idle for long... karma is that inherent ingredient of cosmic system which keeps a person going on and on!

One simply cannot do away with karma... we have to burn it in entirety! Only by establishing absolute control over five senses and mind... could human beings negate karma forever! One reached stage of Nirvikalpa samadhi... the stage of absolute nothingness only after cutting across shackles of karma... never otherwise!

For eradication of karma indulgence in Punya karma... positive karma... good karma all the time is the call of day! Serious seekers of spirituality always indulged in good karma... positive karma all the time! Running after material riches is not a solution that leads one towards emancipation form physical manifest life forever!

To free self from bondages of karma... to reach stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana)... to become an enlightened one like Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or prophet Mohammed... traveling spiritual path diligently and sincerely is the only way out! It is only by indulgence in spirituality all throughout human beings finally gained enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and salvation (moksha)!

Those not desirous of traveling spiritual path... must still pursue path of positive karma, good karma all the time! By remaining positive... we invoke godly powers all the time! Success is manifested by those who traveled path of positive karma... good karma... all the time! For gaining absolute success in life... indulgence in positive karma... good karma is a necessity... not a matter of choice!

The underlying principles of karma are best explained in sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism... the foremost of all sacred scriptures of Hinduism and otherwise! In present times... particularly the present Kali Yuga... Dark Age... metal age... indulgence in good karma... positive karma is an absolute necessity!

To maintain ethos and morality live in community... traveling path of good karma by all is the call of day! The destiny of mankind... the destiny of a nation is governed by theory of mass karma! As is the mass karma performed by all citizens (inhabitants) of that country... accordingly the fate of that country! We just cannot leave things to chance.

Choosing a wrong president can lead the whole nation to rot! In present times... taking care of individual karma is important! We cannot guarantee mass karma performed by society but we can definitely take care of our individual karma! Piece by piece... drop by drop a beleaguered nation can crawl back to firm footing. What we need is a bulldog determination to perform right karma!
